The key objectives of this position are:

The Project Lead will provide oversight on the assistALL project. He will collaboratively work with the other staff and key partners and functions including, Grants Management, Application Development, Sign Language Quality Control and relevant members of the departments according to the donor requirements. It also includes working closely with relevant government entities at national, regional and local level.

  • Overall management of the Project
  • Establish effective working relationship, adequate referral and networking with relevant LNGOs, INGOs, UN agencies, and other civil society groups for project implementation.
  • Ensure excellence in implementation in terms of impact, reporting, and timeliness
  • Stay abreast of donor compliances and requirements
  • Enhance staff capacity and position Signs Media Kenya Limited to ensure donor compliance and GSMAIF  grant minimum standards.
  • Capacity building of Project team members on compliance requirements

Networking and Advocacy Developing and sustaining work relationship with internal/external stakeholders of SMK Limited20%Develop strategic relationship and partnership with key stakeholders at National, Regional and County Level.Interact, build and nurture effective working relationships withrelevant  GO/NGOs,  United  Nations  Agencies,  and  Civil  Society Organizations dealing with persons with hearing disabilities in order to foster coordination, collaboration and partnership in developing assistALL.Serve as a resource person for disseminating knowledge and skills to GO/NGO and other institutions for SMK Ltd profiling.Established adequate referral linkage of project target groups with the appropriate service providers, policy makers and other stakeholders.Educate on the key advocacy issues and plans to PWDs and NGOs and other relevant departments of SMK LtdPut efficient systems in place will that will positively and qualitatively impact the relationships with donors and other beneficiaries.
Financial Management/Policy adherenceAccountability and quality management system in place10%Ensure minimum Risk in the project implementation and deliverables.Ensure internal control mechanisms are in place.Ensure 100% compliance of procurement policy both in SMK Ltd and from the grant funder.Ensure 100% compliance to government regulations.Ensure and monitor the allocation of resources in the most efficient and cost effective way while aiming for the highest quality of implementation.Monitor on monthly basis actual expenditures and compare them with the implementation model, budget requirements, review the budget if needed with the project accountant and other stakeholders who are implementing the project
Documentation and Reporting10%Ensure Monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual and other program and financial reports are prepared, placed and documented in time aligning with project design and donor requirement.Develop reports as and when requiredEnsure assistALL database management is maintained in Project as per SMK Ltd PoliciesEnsure Qualitative reporting and implementations models are maintained.Capture evidences of good practices on a regular basis.
OtherAnything else requested by the Managing Director to support the quality of assistALL App. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or Strategic Management
  • Diploma in Sales and Marketing
  • Over 5 years experience in managing projects from design to implementation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated depth of experience and effectiveness preferably in an NGO context in working with community/grassroots people and organizations, special focus on persons with disabilities.
  • Decision making and problem solving skills
  • Experience in using logical frameworks and project monitoring
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
